Mesothelioma Treatments

There are two types of mesothelioma treatments for mesothelioma- curative and palliative.

The purpose of curative treatments is to remove all cancer cells and cure the disease. For palliative treatments, the purpose is to make the patient comfortable and ease the pain.

Treatments range from radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and surgery to alternative, and experimental, procedures such as immunotherapy and gene therapy. However, in most cases the mesothelioma advice  for the patient will be to receive a combination of all treatments starting by undergoing surgery to remove tissue which has been affected by the cancer and thereafter receiving radiation therapy, or chemotherapy, to kill any remaining cancer cells.

Exposure to asbestos and the effects of the exposure to this substance has caused grief and pain for many people with asbestos related disease and although the dangers were known for a long time efforts to protect those that were exposed were minimal or non existent.

Thousands and thousands of employees have been exposed to asbestos diseases during the 1900s with no idea of the risks they were encountering. Such companies that employed these individuals produced a plethora of products that contained asbestos and they should be liable for failing to protect their employees from cancer from asbestos.
